Kate’s career in the financial services industry spans over fifteen years, specializing in Controls and Compliance of books and records.

She began her career in finance in 2003 with the oversight and reconciliation of Accounts Receivable for an independent television station based in Atlantic City, New Jersey.  In 2007, she joined AXA Equitable and after successfully completing all FINRA licensing requirements in 4 months, was promoted to Senior Branch Controls Manager of the Baltimore, Maryland branch.  During her tenure as Senior BCM, the branch received top honors for being the number one performing branch in the country, and Kate was awarded the AXA Equitable 2012 Rising Star Award for her success in redefining and streamlining the Compliance and Controls procedures for the branch.  Over the course of her time as Senior BCM, Kate strove to improve office workflow efficiency and security, directly affecting the branch’s ability to become and maintain themselves as a top performing branch.

In 2013, Kate joined Morgan Stanley as a Manager within their Wealth Management / Branch Exams Division to provide internal oversight and conduct branch examinations nationwide at physical branch locations to ensure compliance with regulatory and Firm procedures and policies.

After her son was born unexpectedly severely premature, a career change allowing her more flexibility and the ability to be home was needed. In 2017 Balanced Bookkeeping was founded to allow Kate the ability to  utilize her extensive corporate financial controls and internal auditing experience to provide small business bookkeeping support to service based businesses.

Kate has earned her FINRA 7, 24, and 53 regulatory licenses and is a student of Developmental Psychology at Lesley University in Cambridge, Mass.
